Meet Erica, New Marketing Coordinator

Hi, I’m Erica, and I’m the new marketing coordinator at Knit Picks! I started out here as the book designer working on our pattern collections, and I quickly became a huge fan girl for all things Knit Picks. I am so excited to be moving into this new role and sharing all that’s good about this company with you!

(That’s me on the left.)

You might be asking yourself: What kind of a knitter is this Erica person anyway?  Well, the first thing I should tell you is that I taught myself to knit back in college. I’m ashamed (and a little proud?) to admit that my first big project was … drum roll … the Queen of Hearts Bikini from Stitch ‘n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook.

(Yes, I wore this. In public. The shame!)

Recently, I’ve been delving into the world of sock knitting, and I decided to ease myself in with some sport weight socks. I can already tell I’m going to be obsessed with sock knitting. (You guys. It is so fun and practical and easy to carry around and fun, and … I could go on and on. Anyway.)

Knitting two socks at once is my new superpower.

I’m a left-handed knitter (yes, I ssk when y’all k2tog), and I am a huge fan of cotton and other non-wool yarns. I know this can come as a shock to hard-core wool fans out there, but I love easy-care yarn. Besides–wool makes me itch!

Ok, I think that about sums me up, knit-wise. (get it?! K-wise? … I’ll show myself out.)

I’ll leave you with my favorite picture of my knitting buddy: my cat, Prue. She’s a jerk, but oh, I love her so.

Prue, a majestic beast.

Good luck to you in your new position! I too am a die hard Knit Picks supporter. They have wonderful products. I too love cotton yarn. I live in Oklahoma and we simply do not have hard winters. I love Knit Picks cotton yarns but wish they would add more colors in the fingering weight. I use them for baby and kid projects and I just need more colors.
