When looking into the background of this week’s free dishcloth pattern, the super cute Hipacious Houndstooth Dishcloth, I learned some fun facts. First, the oldest known occurrence of the unique checked pattern was a cloak dated between 360 and 100 BC in Sweden, though contemporary patterns were to have originated in Scotland. Second,the smaller scale version of the pattern is called puppytooth, which delights me to no end.
