Hawthorne. Rainbow. Sock Labs!

We’re positively over the moon (or should we say rainbow?) with our new sock lab colors! Our latest sock lab creations, 5 unique rainbow colorways, are here to brighten your day, whether you prefer your rainbows on the light and bright side or dark and stark. Handpainted on our best-selling Hawthorne sock yarn base, these yarns are perfect for a whole closet full of brilliant rainbow-inspired socks and accessories!

Allow me, if you will, to make a few pattern suggestions for these wild skeins, in the spirit of getting one’s creative juices flowing.

For Black Rainbow, I envision a riotous pair of the Rock and Roll Socks from Outrageous Insteps.

For Speckle Rainbow, perhaps a sweet Graphic Baby Cardigan from the Playdate collection?

For Full Rainbow, a wild and vivacious Purl Thief from our Radiance: Knit Accessories collection.

For White Rainbow, the Brindle and Blend shawl (psst…free pattern!) Note: This pattern calls for 2 colors. Perhaps make the second a semi-solid color found in the rainbow?

For Full Rainbow 5yds, the Alcea Cowl (psst…also a free pattern!) Because this cowl is knit flat and then seamed, the striping effect should occur in line with the progression of the pattern. Add to that the dropped stitches, and I think the end result would be so fun and playful.

Planning on indulging in the value pack? For what it’s worth, I think you totally should. Not only will you save 20% off the total price of these 5 hanks, BUT, you’ll be able to start creating some mind-blowingly cool versions of multi-colored shawl projects, like the Helianthus Shawl, Ilana Wrap, or the Find Your Fade.

While these limited edition colors may have just arrived, I encourage you to not wait too long. Like the elusive rainbow itself, these colors won’t last forever!

I ordered this Rainbow Sock Lab and love the colors. I am making some socks with Black Rainbow. I am going to run out. Can I buy Black Rainbow in fingering weight by itself? Thanks Mary Kay Hietpas
