A Year of Crafting in Public

I know it’s officially Craft (Knit) in Public Week but you can find me doing something crafty while I’m out and about every day, 365 days out of the year so why limit myself to one week!? Unfortunately I don’t always have someone along with me to document my craftitude so I thought I’d share some of my favorite craft selfies in honor of my favorite week! (Top photo: knitting a pair of socks while waiting in line for the Samurai exhibit at the Portland Art Museum!)

I put the finishing touches on my wee Marisol the Knitted Mouse while I waited for my flight to North Carolina over Thanksgiving and I couldn’t resist a quick photo of him on the infamous Portland International Airport carpet!

The last two hint at how often I park myself at my favorite tea shop, Townshend’s Tea in southeast Portland. I LOVE their Creme de la Earl Grey and their Ginger Green Chai and buy an ounce of both every week to keep me company at work. I was working on some crochet bunting in Palette this time.

I loved working on my Color Affection shawl in Stroll Bright Pucker in my favorite sunny corner! I wish there was a crafting group near our new house, in the meantime I’ll continue to craft in public and savor my favorite teas. It’s the little things that put an extra shine on the day, right?

I can’t wait for the next warm night when I can bring my newest project to the park and have a lazy evening picnic. What about you? What are your favorite crafting haunts?

I take myneedles everywhere. To swimming lessons, to the doctors waiting room and in the car for long rides! My kids always tell me that my knitting isn’t the most important thing to bring. But when their new pair of socks are on the needles suddenly its very important!
