Wavy Chevrons Dishcloth

WavyChevrons1

I’m so happy to finally share my first contribution to our 52 Weeks of Dishcloths Knitalong – the Wavy Chevrons Dishcloth! My general rules for dishcloths are that the pattern has to work up quickly and be easy to memorize. And this simple crocheted chevron pattern fits the bill perfectly.

The pattern uses Dishie and includes two sizes: a smaller, striped 8.5″ square and a larger, solid 11.5″ square. The best part? You only need one ball of each color in Dishie to make both of these dishcloths, plus leftover yarn for more! You could even make an additional small dishcloth, but reversing the colors – where Kenai is the main color with the stripes in Swan.

If you are just starting out with crochet and are familiar with the basic stitches, this chevron dishcloth is just the thing to add a few new techniques to your repertoire. Using double crochet as the main stitch, the gentle waves of the chevron occur from a series of very simple increases and decreases.

And don’t forget, we have an amazing resource of crochet tutorials to help you get started! I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days with the delightful and super talented  Kalurah Hudson of While They Play Designs, who expertly guides you through a variety of crochet tutorials ranging from beginner to more advanced techniques. And here are a few to help you get started!

  1. I just got my first order ever of Dishie – I grabbed some of the multi-colors. It came today, and the yarn looks AMAZING – it almost seems too nice for washcloths!

This pattern looks like just thing for my skein of “Tugboat”. Thanks!
