Under 100 Collections

I decided this is the year to get my yarn stash under control.  I have been pretty good the last year or so with using my stash for projects but then suddenly, several new skeins of yarn will find their way into my yarn closet and my bins will be overflowing again.

A lot of my stash ends up being single skeins – yarn leftover from projects or a skein I just really needed to buy because it was so pretty. So when we came up with the idea of our Under 100 Collections, I was so excited – 40 patterns that all use under 100 grams of yarn!

Each of these books have so many great, quick projects – fingerless mitts, cowls, hats, scarves and more.  I love so many of the patterns and I can’t wait to get started – goodbye random single skeins!

Since hats are probably what I make the most, those are what I instantly gravitated to.  My favorite in the knit collection has got to be the Nutkin Beanie by Erica Jackofsky.

SQUIRREL!  And not just one but 2!

It’s such an adorable hat – and I have multiple skeins of Palette just waiting to be used for it.

The other thing I have a lot of in my stash is sock yarn.  I just can’t help myself when I’m browsing yarns – the pretty colors just get me every time.  Unfortunately, I haven’t been knitting many socks lately but I have been doing a lot of fingering weight hats.  So Beth Graham‘s Channel Islands Cap is perfect.

I haven’t crocheted too many hats but I think this would be a great one to try out – and I really love that there are 3 different options for the brim!

So are you stashbusting this year?  What sort of patterns do you look for?

Thanks for sharing this collection! I knit and crochet and am dying to get my stash under control. I’m definitely going to have to check this out.
