Mismatched Dishcloth

55560220

For my new dishcloth, I thought I’d go with a combination of my favorite crochet techniques. I was flipping through a crochet stitch dictionary & happened across a wave and chevron stitch and thought “perfect!”   A few variations of my own and I have a colorful new dishcloth to share!

I really liked the mismatched striping too – the pattern repeat is 6 rows, but you change colors every 2 rows – so with 4 colors, it means each color stripe has a different look.  I like that the waves are all different colors.

Naturally, I choose the Dishie colors I like – blues ( Azure and Blue ) & greens (Tranquil) with a little purple (Mulberry) for a pop – but you should feel free to choose colors you like together.  For my next one, I may try it with 3 colors in Dishie Fiesta Red, Swan and Silver to more match my kitchen.

  1. For a “mismatched” dishcloth, this sure is beautiful! I think it’s my favorite so far of this whole series. =)

  2. My daughter spied this dish cloth and. Wants that blanket for her bed.. how to enlarge pattern from dish cloth to Afghan

    • This pattern would be easy to adapt to an afghan. Simply chain a multiple of 6 until it is as wide as you want it, then add 2 more chains.
Follow the pattern directions as written until it is as long as you want it, then follow the final row directions.
