Greetings and Salutations!

Hi! My name is Holly and I’m the new Multimedia Manager here at Knit Picks. Since Jenny is now in charge of marketing, I’ll be bringing you exciting new content in the forms of podcasts, web videos, and online tutorials! I hope you’ll stay tuned to see it all.

Knitting has taken me through so many transitions in my life. I learned as a child, picked it up again in college and have been knitting ever since. I think I’ve knit pairs of socks or hats or handwarmers for every friend I’ve had, in the cities where I’ve lived. Since most of my career (which has ranged from directing children’s television shows, to editing animated features, to making my own short films) happens in front of a computer, I use knitting as a “therapy” when I get home from a long day and need to immerse myself in texture and craft. Knitting is a long road. As soon as you’ve mastered one path, there’s a million more ways you can go, right? I’m still learning so much.

Two years ago, I gave birth to my first daughter, Penelope, and four months ago I had another, Lucille. Penny and Lulu have overtaken my knitting habits (as well as most of time) and now I almost exclusively make baby knits. I’m obsessed. Is there anything cuter than a baby you love in a handknit? I’ve fallen so in love with miniature knitwear that I’ve started to design my own patterns.

My job here at Knit Picks brings together so many of my interests. You can also check out my personal blog Unfurled and friend me on Ravelry (user: Unfurled) if you wish. I look forward to making content here at Knit Picks that you might enjoy, and can’t wait to hear what you think!

Welcome, Holly! Here’s hoping the future episodes of the podcast keep the flavor of a conversation with a knitter that I love so much.
