Freebie…Monday?

It’s Monday, the weekend is gone and we all need something to cheer us up. So how about a couple of new free patterns to get you through the day?

First up, we have Kalurah Hudson‘s Corylus, an lovely iPad cover in Swish Bulky.

It’s so pretty – and functional!  Using bulky weight yarn knit at a tighter gauge creates a dense fabric so it will certainly help if you happen to drop your iPad (oops!).

Kalurah also has a couple new IDP patterns this week – Bracken Convertible Cloche (which matches her beautiful Bracken Mitts) and the gorgeous Ardor Throw, made in snuggly Billow. Both are only $1.99 each.

The second free pattern is beautiful Daphne Scarf by Saranac Hale Spencer.

This 49″ x 6″ scarf is perfect for cooler spring days – it takes just 3 skeins of Shine Worsted so it’s cool and comfortable.  And the pretty green leaves greet the warmer weather- this time of year a lot of us are looking for a bit of green after a long winter of grey.

Saranac has one other pattern as part of IDP – her lovely Herringbone Heart Bottoms Scarf, also only $1.99!

So I hope these 2 free patterns made your Monday a bit brighter!  Have a good week everyone!

Love the Daphne scarf. I downloaded the pattern but unfortunately the yarn requirements, needle size and gauge are all printed in black over the dark part of the scarf and are unreadable. Could you please provide more details (I do see you have noted above that it was knit with 3 skeins of Shine Worsted) – but needle size and gauge please??

Gauge is listed as US size 7 at 4 stitches and 6 rows per inch

I need clarification on Row 2. I cast on 30 stitches, row 1 worked out fine but row 2 seems to be off – I wind up with one stitch left over plus the count would go beyond 30 even if it worked out. the K2tog is offset by the inc1 but there is no corresponding dec for the yarn overs in the row.
