I’ve been a huge Rebecca Danger fan for years now, so I was absolutely delighted to work with her on this! These 4 adorable patterns were inspired by Rebecca’s love of creating a new ornament each year for her family. And of course, along with an adorable Christmas Snowman and Christmas Elf, a Rebecca Danger collection would not be complete without cute monsters!

This guy is my favorite – Round Christmas Monster.

Each of these patterns are knit in the round in one piece (no sewing!), though they are easily modified to be knit in pieces if you prefer. You can add a hanging tag so you can include them on your tree or leave it off for a cute shelf decoration. While these guys were knit up in Palette yarn, the nice thing about toys (and Rebecca Danger’s patterns in particular) is you can pretty much use any yarn weight for them – just use a needle size a couple of sizes smaller than the recommended size to make the fabric nice and dense so the stuffing won’t show. For instance, I’m dreaming of a big hugable Round Christmas Monster in Tuff Puff, so I’ll use size 13 (9mm) needles for him. He’ll be so big and squishy!

Alison is also a big fan of Rebecca Danger, so during our shoot for the collection, we brought a couple of our little guys in to join them.

The monster on the far left is my version of Frances The Charismatic Monster – he’s my favorite and lives on my desk! I knit him up in a discontinued yarn, similar to Swish DK and he just makes my day to see him when I look up from my computer. Also mine is the Zeke the Aloof Alpaca on the far right. Since he’s an alpaca, I had to use Andean Treasure of course (it’s a discontinued color). He also lives on my desk. The bunny sitting in front of Zeke is mine as well – I made hundreds (okay, maybe 20) of these little guys from her free pattern Bunny Nuggets. Most of my others have disappeared over the years, some to friends, some to kids who visit the office but I’ve held on to the little orange one! He’s knit up in Dishie.

Alison’s is the real star though – here’s her version of Sherman the Square Dancing Stegosaurus.

She knit him up in her own handspun and he’s her son’s best buddy. She’s also knit up Terence the Tap Dancing T-Rex and Basil the Boogie-Woogie Brontosaurus to make a trio of dinos, but they are so beloved at home, they didn’t make it in for the photoshoot.

Super cute! I’ve already cast on for the snowman so I can start decorating. However, I’ve noticed a few mistakes in the pattern and am wondering if there will be errata available?

    Thanks!
