In addition to the great tutorials and videos
we have available at Knit Picks, we have also been working hard on
expanding our videos to include a behind the scenes look at new kits! If
you have ever wondered about the inspiration behind the projects or
simply want to hear more about the design process that goes into the
kits, you really have to check out the Designer Interview videos!
After all of the designing, editing, sample knitting and re-editing
is done and the kits are ready to make their debut, I ask our talented
to give everyone an inside look into each kit. These designer videos
are really great for finding out which specific techniques, construction
and design elements are used as well as learning about any tips or
might have to make your project a success. I find it endlessly
fascinating to hear about the point of inspiration that started each
project alongside the final piece.
Finding these designer interviews is so easy, simply click on the
“Video” tab for the kit and you are all set! For kits that feature
intricate techniques – such as picture knitting in the Road Trip Totes – we have also added a matching tutorial to help you get started.
Want even more of the inside scoop behind Knit Picks yarns and kits?
You might want to check out our yarn review videos that we have started
to add! So far, we have video reviews up for Aloft, Wool of the Andes, Chroma and the Bare yarn line. Kelley
talks about the qualities of each yarn that make it so very special
along with project ideas, tips for working with the yarn, tid bits of
Knit Picks history and fun facts along the way. My favorite part of
these video reviews is that they allow you to see and experience the
yarn in a whole new way – and Kelley’s enthusiasm is just so infectious, it makes me want to get knitting right away!
