Meet Zoey Baggins, our new Influencer Marketing Outreach Coordinator

I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the incredible Digital Team at Knit Picks. For decades, I’ve been passionate about fiber arts and am constantly seeking out new skills, supplies, and epic adventures. Depending on the season and my interests at any given moment, I knit, crochet, and sew!  I spend my evenings and weekends crafting as much as I can muster. I’ll grab onto any opportunity to discuss new fabrics or yarns and love to help others find their confidence with craft supplies.  Rarely found without my Corgi by my side, the two of us fully utilize any bits of free time ...

Meet Cathy, our Marketing Manager

Here on the blog, we love the chance to introduce the people behind our brands. We live our mission daily; to help crafters do what they do best: create, by supporting each other in our crafting adventures. Our Yarn Division has a new sock lover, aka our new Marketing Manager, Cathy Hut. Cathy brings a wealth of knowledge in her professional craft as well as in her textile crafting. With 30+ years’ marketing experience gained in a variety of industries including tech, professional association and healthcare sectors, plus a stint as a newspaper editor in Texas, Cathy is already our go-to wordsmith and marketing guru. She earned an MBA in marketing from the University of Colorado, and undergrad degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Kansas. We are happy to have such an accomplished lady leading our team! Cathy describes herself as “a lifelong knitter of middling skill, taught ...

Meet Michelle: Crafter Abroad

After having lived overseas for many years, I still have occasional moments where I am surprised when someone answers me or greets me in English. Thankfully, the language of textile appreciation and crafters everywhere often only requires oohs and ahhs and the proverbial thumbs up. I consider myself a generalist crafter as I grew up surrounded by creative & crafty ladies. I have pictures of me “sewing” on paper when I was three years old, and I think my love of textiles and fabrics began then.

"Producer" Sarah Headshot
What’s New From The Knit Picks Podcast

Hi, I’m Sarah! I started with the Knit Picks Podcast as their newest producer in October of 2019. I come from an audio and a video production background but also am a seasoned knitter. I was beyond excited by the opportunity to work with Knit Picks. I see the podcast as an opportunity to really dive into a specific topic within yarn culture and grow with the larger craft audience. I’m a big podcast lover and feel that there is a deep connection that happens when someone listens to a show. It can feel personal.   The challenge to this podcast (and many other podcasts) is that we’re having to discuss topics that are traditionally ...

Meet Morgan, New Digital Graphic Designer

Hey everybody! My name is Morgan, and I am incredibly excited to be joining the Knit Picks team as the digital graphic designer. You want emails? I got you. You want web graphics? Coming right up. You want snacks? Go get some! (I haven’t figured out how to deliver those digitally yet. But if I could, I promise I would. The first thing you should know about me is that I love snacks.) I’m originally from Colorado, but moved to Oregon about 5 years ago. I have loved being out here, and I feel incredibly lucky to call such a neat place home. I have an Australian Shepherd named Roo, and I am quite fond of the little fluff ball. Look ...

Meet Erica, New Marketing Coordinator

Hi, I’m Erica, and I’m the new marketing coordinator at Knit Picks! I started out here as the book designer working on our pattern collections, and I quickly became a huge fan girl for all things Knit Picks. I am so excited to be moving into this new role and sharing all that’s good about this company with you! (That’s me on the left.) You might be asking yourself: What kind of a knitter is this Erica person anyway?  Well, the first thing I should tell you is that I taught myself to knit back in college. I’m ashamed (and a little proud?) to admit that my first big project was … drum roll … the Queen of Hearts Bikini from Stitch ‘n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook.

Meet Lee, new graphic designer

Hi, I’m Lee, your new digital graphic designer! That means I’m creating the emails you get from us multiple times a week, as well as the graphics on the website, and other assorted stuff. I’m so happy to be here—as a former knitting pattern designer, and a new graphic designer, this job is the perfect overlap of my two biggest fields of interest and experience!

Meet Hillary, new catalog director

Hi guys! My name is Hillary and I am the new Catalog Director at Knit Picks. I am so excited to dive deeper in the the world of knitting and look forward to interacting with more of you. My knitting journey started about 5 years ago. My mother-in-law taught me how to crochet and then how to knit. I envy people who have the patience to knit large and tedious projects. I love chunky knits because they knit up so fast and am a sucker for the pretty texture. When I am not designing or knitting I love painting, sewing, and woodworking. My husband and I are in the process of building a house so I always have my hands busy with some sort of building project ...

Knit Picks staff - Allison Drake
Meet Allison, new administrative assistant

Hi! I’m Allison, one of the newest additions to the Knit Picks team! I joined the Knit Picks team with the knitting experience equal to half of a busted washcloth that I never completed and lost at some point (don’t worry – I bring other skills to the team). I’ve always wanted to master knitting, but I wasn’t really sure where to start and the memory of my busted washcloth was a reminder of what I considered a failure to learn. Then one day I suddenly found myself accepting a job with the Knit Picks family, and this amazing team of supportive knitters made me realize that the silly excuses were just silly and I now ...

Meet Kate, New Administrative Assistant

Greetings! I am the newest marketing administrative assistant here at Knit Picks. I’ll be behind the scenes of all things social media, email, and design related. I consider it a dream come true to be working in an environment surrounded by so much crafty goodness. Hey Kate! How long have you been at Knit Picks? I started just after Thanksgiving of this year, because who doesn’t love to make major life changes during the holidays? Seriously though, I had been at my previous job in Portland for almost 9 years, and as they say, it was time for a new, craftier challenge in life. I left the world of community-owned food cooperatives, where I had most recently filled the role of ...
