All right folks, this is it! After a grueling few weeks of battles, we have our Final 2! The Final Four were so close – only had a handful of votes between the winner & loser in both battles. But, Wool of the Andes prevailed over Alpaca Cloud and Comfy had a hard won victory over Cotlin. So here is your updated bracket!
It was so fun seeing all the creative yarn glamour shots Knit Picks fans came up with for this contest! Below are the three winners. Thanks to all who participated!
This gorgeous shot of a spinning wheel is graced with our Wool of The Andes Roving, hand dyed with Jacquard Acid Dyes. Much ‘oooooooing’ and ‘awwwwwing’ was heard throughout our office when we saw this photo. Simply lovely.

I love dreaming up new ideas to show off all of our gorgeous yarn! At least one yarn line each catalog cycle needs an updated photo to represent the family for the year so I keep a sketchbook full of ideas. Now it’s your turn! Ready to try your hand at it? Today, we’re pleased to announce our “Yarn Glam” Instagram Contest—a chance for you to share your creative eye for yarn beauty, and maybe win a delightful $100 Knit Picks gift card in the process!
The task of returning gifts is a dreary leftover of the holiday season—but there are lots of artful ways to avoid improper gifting (for example, Pinterest boards abound). However, what if you could drop helpful hints AND enter a delightful contest in one fell swoop?
You can indeed: The “Win Your Wish List” contest is back! Once again, three lucky people will win $50 worth of Knit Picks merchandise, just by creating and sharing their dream list of goodies.
I’m pretty sure that you could hear my exclamations from SPACE when we got our first copy of Anna Hrachovec’s new book “Huge & Huggable Mochimochi“. A giant stuffed tooth brush and tooth paste tube? YES PLEASE. An enormous pink squid driving a car?? You had me at Squidpocalypse. Page after page of incredibly cute knits had me clapping my hands and giggling with delight until we reached the page with Roland the rolly bug lounging in his folding chair. At this point, my brain exploded and I had to restrain myself from ripping the book out of Stacey’s hands and making a copy of the pattern to take home over the weekend so that I could have my very own Roland ASAP.
This was the biggest response to contest we’ve ever had. Since the overwhelming response resulted in some issues with commenting on the blog late in the weekend, we counted comments on other blog posts, emails & social media places – which brought the total entries to over 28,000!
There were so many wonderful comments & ideas on what to do with 150 skeins of Palette! (since I was approving the comments, I read them all!). To keep it fair, we randomly drew a winner from all the entries. So a big congratulations to Nan in Minnesota, who commented:
I would give them to the girls in our school knitting club to use in this year’s charity project–making sweaters for our adopted orphanage in Kenya.
We hope Nan will share photos of these wonderful girls using our yarn and that they have fun making some very special gifts!
