In Bloom is our newest (gorgeous) spring collection, and I’m so thrilled that I get to talk a little more about it! There are fifteen light-weight projects ranging from the pretty little Flora Headscarf in Palette Bluebell to the super detailed lace weight Juliet Cardigan. There’s something for everyone in this collection and it will definitely be my go-to as I prep for warmer weather and clearer skies.
It’s a rare day when the weather manages to cooperate and we’re able to do a photo shoot outside without some sort of cover here in Portland and I’m always delighted when I can book a model and schedule time with our photographer with a clear forecast on the horizon. I keep a running catalog of “this would be so great to shoot the next time we have some nice weather” places around Portland and this time Mississippi Ave. in NE Portland had it’s turn as our location of choice for the Bulky 2013 pattern collection.
I’m so excited to share the catalog cover for April 2012! I knew I wanted to do something with our lovely range of cotton yarns
and I definitely wanted to create flowers but it took a few tries to get
the cover just how we wanted it. I can’t help thinking about the huge field of poppies in the Wizard of OZ when I look at this picture.
November is almost here! And that means that there’s a new catalog in the works. In the spirit of cooler weather and cozier knits, the next cover is a tiny fiber village! I spent the past two winters in a tiny town in rural Vermont enjoying deep snow, icy ponds and farm houses blanketed with snow so this season I couldn’t resist recreating some of those memories with soft, cozy fiber.
