Swirling Leaves Baby Blanket

Spring is in the air!  We’re (not) enjoying a very wet cold spring here in Pacific Northwest but there is hope around the bend.  And as much as we complain about the rain, we do love our green landscape.  And that’s the inspiration behind this week’s Freebie Friday pattern!

This cute baby blanket is the Swirling Leaves Baby Blanket by our own Kerin and her clever creativity is all over it.  The three-dimensional leaves rise in a spiral from 7 mitered squares of garter stitch – giving a unique look to a baby blanket.  It’s also a lot of fun to make! I just love the puffy leaves & the pretty lace border.

Kerin, of course, is our in house designer.  Her extraordinary patterns cover everything from sweaters to hats to socks and she loves designing all sorts of patterns – she’s done them all, from very simple beginner ones to highly complicated lace & colorwork (her favorite actually!)  She’s also heavily inspired by nature – here are just a few of her patterns.

And not to mention her gorgeous new eBook, inspired by the Oregon Coast.
