My Grandmother’s Knitting

For anyone that lives in or around Portland, Oregon – we all know how lucky we are to be in the middle of such a crafty city! And here is just one more example – Andersen Fiber Works is holding a book signing party for My Grandmother’s Knitting tomorrow evening! Not only will Larissa Brown, Chrissy Gardiner,
Leigh Radford, Joan McGowan Micheal, and Stevanie Pico be there, but there will also be snacks and karaoke! Could it get any better?

If you haven’t seen My Grandmother’s Knitting yet, you are in for a treat! What I love most about this book is that it really is so much more than just a knitting book. You’ll find charmingly beautiful designs from Wendy Bernard, Pam Allen, Meg Swanson, Ysolda Teague, Jared Flood and more. If you call the Northwest home, you’ll also find patterns by local designers Chrissy Gardiner, Leigh Radford, and Stevanie Pico. But here is what makes My Grandmother’s Knitting so special – in addition to all of the designs being inspired by family members of the designers, the book also features a collection of essays from the designers that tell the stories and memories of the family members that sparked their fiber interest. I love that My Grandmother’s Knitting uses this craft as the link between families, generations, friends and time as its foundation.

Here is a little blub with more details about the event from Jen, of Andersen Fiber Works:

“Sept 16th from 6:30-10:30 AFW will be hosting the book launch of My
Grandmother’s Knitting by Larissa Brown. This will be a fun night that
you are not going to want to miss. Everyone is welcome so bring your
knitting buddy and get your book signed by Larissa, Chrissy Gardiner,
Leigh Radford, Joan McGowan Micheal, and Stevanie Pico to name a few.
There will also be samples knit from the designers in the book available
to see. Beer, wine, and appetizers will be served….as well as karaoke.”

Hope to see you there!
