Free Pattern – Melodica Coin Purse

I feel like we don’t see enough coin purses out there – they’re so handy, not just for coins but for other small little items you don’t want to have to keep digging though a big purse to find (I keep lip balm & gloss in mine!).  Plus they’re handy if you just want to carry around a few items and not worry about a large purse on a night out. Well if you want to make one for yourself, check out the newest free pattern from the always creative SpillyJane, the Melodica Coin Purse!

Free Knit Coin Purse Pattern

This sweet little purse features a really cute floral motif and is a great way to practice your colorwork skills! It’s actually in in two pieces – the outer layer is knit up in the round with the cute colorwork pattern, then sewn up at the bottom using Kitchener stitch. Then the inner layer is knit in a solid color the same way and both pieces are sewn together before adding the all important purse frame (easy to find in most craft stores). I absolutely love the fact that there is a lining in this – that way your stuff inside won’t get caught on the colorwork floats!

Free Knit Coin Purse Pattern

I would suggest using a lighter color for the lining as we did – that way your treasures will be easier to see!

Best of all, this pattern is absolutely free! Since it uses small amounts of Palette, you’ll have this knit up in no time and be ready to take it on the go with you!
