Bulky 2013 Pattern Collection

It's a rare day when the weather manages to cooperate and we're able to do a photo shoot outside without some sort of cover here in Portland and I'm always delighted when I can book a model and schedule time with our photographer with a clear forecast on the horizon. I keep a running catalog of "this would be so great to shoot the next time we have some nice weather" places around Portland and this time Mississippi Ave. in NE Portland had it's turn as our location of choice for the Bulky 2013 pattern collection.

Everyday is Halloween!

It's October 1st, which means it's my favorite month of the year!  Every since I was young, I've loved October - cooler days, falling leaves, pumpkin everything, and especially all sorts of spooky things to celebrate Halloween!  Whether it's listening to an old favorite song, watching a favorite movie or visiting our local haunted houses, every October I'm ready to celebrate. And a lot of our IDP designers have gotten into the spirit - check out some of these great patterns to get started on before the 31st shows up. I'm a huge fan of nature, as I'm sure those of you who have read my other blogs will know! Walking through a sunny field or a lush forest is an experience that I treasure. Garter Ridge Hat in Stroll Tweed

About once a catalog cycle I hear myself saying "Oh... I should really make this one" as I hold up one garment or another from a pattern collection during a photo shoot. That list keeps getting longer and I find myself forgetting about them once the catalog mails and some gorgeous project photo catches my eye on Pinterest or Ravelry. This time however, I managed to mentally "earmark" the Garter Ridge Hat from the Light Basics pattern collection as a project that would make a a lovely hat for my dad.
