Bulky 2013 Pattern Collection

5114220_7

It’s a rare day when the weather manages to cooperate and we’re able to do a photo shoot outside without some sort of cover here in Portland and I’m always delighted when I can book a model and schedule time with our photographer with a clear forecast on the horizon. I keep a running catalog of “this would be so great to shoot the next time we have some nice weather” places around Portland and this time Mississippi Ave. in NE Portland had it’s turn as our location of choice for the Bulky 2013 pattern collection.

Caspian is a beautiful blend of soothing blues and greens that mix together to make a very striking needle.  They’re perfect for wood needle lovers, as they use our strong-and-smooth birch laminate wood and are polished to a soft sheen.  We’ve also created a new emerald-colored cable to match your needles.

November Nesting

I don’t know if it’s the suddenly dark evenings, the rainy weather, or the fact that Eggnog Lattes are back in season, but I’ve seriously been a homebody the last couple of weeks. I’ve always been a fan of knitting lovely winter and fall items to wear, but this year I got a bug in my ear for home items. Switching Sides

Our friend Katrina from our sister company Connecting Threads finished a gorgeous new blanket to show you!

As the graphic designer for Connecting Threads, I’m typically blogging about small quilting and sewing projects that I’ve completed, however it’s time to switch things up a bit! Earlier this year, two of the ladies on the Knit Picks team graciously offered their time to teach a bunch of us non-yarn folk how to crochet. There is a long list of crocheting ladies in my family, and I was determined to be one of them. While I didn’t pick up on it right away, it did eventually click and I found a new craft to be obsessed with.

More pink, please!

In a utopian world, in which wars are a thing of the past, spiders cease to exist and cupcakes have the nutritional value of kale, I would get to wear pink, girly accessories with sweat pants.

Oh my, did I just dream utopia into reality? Because I just finished a lovely, feminine cowl out of our silky new Diadem yarn and – yes, you guessed it – it looks smashing with my faithful sweatshirt.
